The Danford anchor is a lightweight, high-grip anchor developed by Richard. It was invented by S. Danforth in 1939 and was initially used on landing craft during World War II. Its design is renowned for its light weight and strong grip, making it highly suitable for yachts, small vessels, and as an auxiliary anchor for large ships.
Unlike common rodless anchors such as Hall anchors and Sbeck anchors, Danford anchors are rodless anchors equipped with crossbars, which can help the anchor quickly adjust its Angle and make it easier for the anchor claws to penetrate the seabed.
